10,000 steps in March for Ethan

The month of January was a sorrowful month. Ethan, an exceptional boy who sparked joy in the hearts of everyone he met, left to fly high with the angels. Ethan was admired and adored by C.H.A.I.L.I.S and the Sunraysia community. Ethan was born with an incredibly rare genetic condition, MECP2 duplication. Throughout his life, Ethan faced obstacles and challenges most people could never imagine facing. However, it is so clear that Ethan bought immense joy to his family.  He never gave up, overcoming any barrier that he faced. Ethan had a wonderful way of finding happiness in the world. His brave fight with the syndrome paved the way for further research and advancement in knowledge of the condition. Ethan was truly cherished by his courageous, strong family, and the community. His passing is such an immense loss.

A fundraiser was set up to raise money to assist Ethan’s family to cover the cost of a funeral. A total of $3,900 was raised by the community.  Although the fundraiser has now closed, you can donate directly at anytime to:

Acc Name: – CHAILIS

The month of March will be dedicated to remembering the bravery and strength of Ethan, whilst raising money to continue to financially support Ethan’s family.

Lets all join together in remembering Ethan by aiming for 10,000 steps a day for the month of March. Each day you complete the step target, put 50c away ($15.50 for the month) for Ethan’s family. The end of the month will be a time of reflection of the true meaning of bravery and strength, taught to us by Ethan. Donations can be deposited into the account listed above.

Don’t forget to send updates of your journey through to our Facebook page.

Fly high Ethan, thank you for all the joy and knowledge you have given to the world. You were truly an inspiration and a hero.
